Check out the Three Rivers Weather Forecast
Check out also the Weather in the Park (differs because of the elevation)
Mark's Tip: The temperature drops for 3 degrees for every 1,000 ft you go up.
So this means that in the Giant Forest the air temperature will be 18 degrees less than in town.

In the homes you will find a 'What is Where' map for the Park and Three Rivers. For now here is the breakdown of what you can expect to find in Three Rivers for 'Food and Beverage'!
The Village Market which is the grocery store just as you get into town.
Adjacent to it is Casa Mendoza Mexican food.
The Pizza Factory is two doors down.
A mile or so down 198 - you'll find the Buckaroo Restaurant, many guests tell me they like it. They also offer several vegetarian meals and have outdoor seating next to the river.
Next, another half block down is Sierra Subs. Good local owned food business, featuring great sandwiches, beverages, goodies and more!
The Shell gas station is right there. Next to the Shell is the Three Rivers Brewing Company, craft beer! Two blocks further down 198 is the Chevron.
About half a mile further you'll notice the River View Restaurant and Lounge on the left side (completely revamped by the new owners! Congratulations to Lisa and David!). Great full bar and good ol American style food, burgers, good pizza, steaks and such. Dining right on the river and more budget friendly than my next tip.
Just outside the Park entrance is the Gateway Restaurant. Very good, a bit pricey but food and the service are the best. It has a wonderful view overlooking the Kaweah River! Ask to sit on the back deck!
We have two ATMs in Three Rivers. One at the Credit Union and one at the Bank of the Sierra. Both accept also international Maestro cards.
The In Park Shuttle Service is great and it is free!
NOTE: The shuttle does not run in the Winter.
Mark's Tip: if you have kids or elderly, park at the Giant Forest lower parking lot, take the free shuttle to the top, and walk through the forest easy downhill back to your car.
Mark's tip: many people don't know about Crystal Cave. It is amazing! See it here: Crystal Cave
Tip 2: the 'Cave' books up well in advance, so make your reservation early!
IF IT''S SPRING, IT'S LIKELY WHITE WATER RAFTING SEASON!
For more information see at our certified local rafting cies;
The Park During the Winter is a great experience.
(SNOW CHAINS ARE OFTEN REQUIRED Mark's tip Best Places to Rent.)
If you like planning ahead and don't mind this volume of info then here ya go. This is message is lengthy, it took a pretty fair amount of time to assemble and I had fun with it, and just for my Guests! When you get to the house you'll find that I provide you a single sheet overview map of the Park and another that indicates places in Three Rivers. Both are yours to take. Those will help you get your bearings. I also put together 3 pages that show you half a dozen short day hikes with a map. Yours to take. Additionally, we have a Park road map and the Park newsletter on hand for you to look over inside the home. You will given new copies of these when you enter the Park. For those that really like 'advance planning' here are some great links! If you would like to see the various Park trails and know about guided tours you may find all that at: Guided Tours
For Crystal Cave! It is usually booked up so may I suggest you make reservations or just buy the tickets
