The Shady Knoll

The Shady Knoll was created and is managed by a great local Three Rivers Team. We really do care about all our guests in regards to your experience at our vacation rentals as well as your visit to "our neck of the woods". The ‘Knoll’ is located on a secluded and quiet lane only 2 miles from the Sequoia Park entrance and it really is on a Shady Knoll. Perfect for two couples is this 1350 sq foot two bedroom home.

This home was recently renovated by the owners and put together nicely with our guests in mind. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, pots, pans, dishes, spices, blender and a toaster, everything you would need to prepare meals in-house for those who love to cook. We also provide you with coffee and assorted teas, along with a few complimentary goodies. We provide plenty of local information and tips from your Host including where to go if you just prefer dining out!

The bathrooms are always clean with plenty of fresh, clean towels. We also supply you with shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The beds are all new top of the line King size and include all new linens. These beds are comfortable! We also use hypoallergenic pillow and bed protectors for your safety and comfort. The couches and the dining room table are comfortable as well. Yes, there is a large HD-tv and very good Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is good enough to stream movies 24/7 so we provide you with free Netflix.

There is a BBQ on deck and the living room is situated to take in views of the (often) snow peaked Sierra Mountains. The views from the front and back are some of the best in Three Rivers and each is completely different. Relax on the huge back deck with a panoramic view of Moro Rock and Alta Peak! The small front deck looks over the whole town of Three Rivers. You will have a view of Eagles Peak and you can often hear the Kaweah River in the valley below.

Always be on the lookout for photo ops of our local wildlife and opportunities for selfie-shots!

In addition to providing you with access to our own website, which is loaded with local and Park information, in the home you will also find easy to read one page local and Park driving and planning maps. These also include our own custom 'where is what' food map for Three Rivers.

We do all we can to help make your trip and stay here as fun and relaxing as possible!

During your stay you will have complete access to the home and privacy as well. However, if you have any questions or need anything I am available 24/7. IT IS NOT mandatory that we meet - most people want privacy and of course a clean and comfortable stay. WE GIVE YOU THAT!

"One of the most important factors for us traveling during COVID is cleanliness, sanitation and safety. This location and the host's team follow through with upholding sanitization. We felt comfortable in the home, was very clean and their protocols are listed. There is also contactless check in. What makes this Airbnb are the near panoramic views of the area. Very beautiful and lots of furniture and amenities to enjoy the outdoor parts of the home. The location was great in that it was close enough to the things in town but far enough away to have peace and enjoy the sounds of nature. It's also very close to the park entrance. The host, Mark, is hospitable, very communicative, answered my many questions, gave recommendations in town and tips for visiting the park. Definitely recommend a stay here!"

Mark's place is phenomenal. The design was excellent and the views are breathtaking (over the Sequoia mountains). He went to great detail to provide personal effects (including snacks and even a bottle of wine). While the home is quaint and comfortable from the outside, it feels quite grand from the inside. Plenty of deck space. Mark was very kind and communicative. Anyone who stays there should feel very fortunate...

Wish there was an option for 10 stars!!!! Cannot say enough great things about our stay on Shady Knoll. Views from every part of the house were absolutely breathtaking!! The house is gorgeous and we were provided with everything we needed. Mark is the best host EVER!!! He made suggestions on the local hot spots and communication with us was great during our stay and we really appreciated that. We made the majority of our meals at the house, but with the advice from Mark, we ate at the River View down in town and the food and band was fantastic. Definitely will be back!! Thank you, Mark, for being such a gracious and considerate host!

The house was clean and tastefully decorated, and Mark thought of every detail to make the trip enjoyable. We knew immediately we were going to love it when we saw the views from all sides of the house the first night we were there. My son, a teacher on break, spent hours sitting on the deck or on the sitting space watching the mountains. I loved seeing all the little lizards scampering about on the rocks by the sitting space as I enjoyed a glass of wine each night or the beautiful deer that walked right up to the deck...but no further....the first morning as I drank my coffee. Mark thought of many little details. We had everything we needed for cooking in the well-supplied kitchen, and when we walked in, there were snacks waiting for us on the counter. The drive into the park every day was enjoyable, and we enjoyed eating at a couple of the restaurants. This house was a great place to take the break my family and I needed! We will definitely be back someday! Though we did not have cell phone service, which is common everywhere there, we did have good WiFi at the house."

"This house is spectacular. The location is amazing up a steep hill that overlooks the Three Rivers Valley. You fee that you are up on top of the world. There are a number of outside seating areas where you can watch the sunrise or set. The beds are very comfortable and the amenities are great. It is located 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park although it is a 40 minute to an hour drive up a very steep winding road to get to the sequoia forest. We did not find the restaurants that great although pizza at the market was okay. So we cooked in the house which has great cooking essentials. We had lovely meals overlooking the valley and then watched a full moon. It was a magical stay for us."
